What GitHub Actions (BYOK) is for

GitHub Actions (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own GitHub Actions data through the GitHub Actions API with a key you supply (GitHub personal access token (repo scope for private repositories; admin:org for organization runners)). Read-only: 12 tools (list_workflows, get_workflow, list_workflow_runs, list_runs_for_workflow, get_workflow_run, list_run_jobs, get_job, list_run_artifacts, list_repository_artifacts, list_repository_runners, list_organization_runners, list_caches). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to api.github.com. Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by GitHub Actions. GitHub Actions and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with.

Ask your assistant things like:

  • "Which GitHub Actions workflows does octocat/Hello-World have?"
  • "Show the ci.yml workflow of octocat/Hello-World."
  • "Did the latest CI runs on octocat/Hello-World pass?"
  • "Show the latest runs of ci.yml in octocat/Hello-World."
  • "Show workflow run 30433642 of octocat/Hello-World."
  • "Which jobs failed in run 30433642 of octocat/Hello-World?"

What it does

  • list_workflows: List the workflows of a repository with name, file path and state.
  • get_workflow: Get one workflow by numeric id or workflow file name (for example ci.yml).
  • list_workflow_runs: List recent workflow runs of a repository with status, conclusion, branch, event and times. Filter by branch, event, actor, status or date.
  • list_runs_for_workflow: List the runs of one workflow (by id or file name) with status, conclusion, branch and times.
  • get_workflow_run: Get one workflow run with its status, conclusion, trigger, commit and timing.
  • list_run_jobs: List the jobs of a workflow run with status, conclusion, runner and step results.
  • get_job: Get one workflow job with its steps, status, runner and labels.
  • list_run_artifacts: List the artifacts produced by one workflow run with name, size and expiry.
  • list_repository_artifacts: List the artifacts stored for a repository across all runs with name, size and expiry.
  • list_repository_runners: List the self-hosted runners registered for a repository with OS, status, busy flag and labels.
  • list_organization_runners: List the self-hosted runners registered for an organization with OS, status, busy flag and labels (needs admin:org).
  • list_caches: List Actions caches of a repository with key, branch ref, size and last access time.

BYOK key

You bring your own GitHub Actions GitHub personal access token (repo scope for private repositories; admin:org for organization runners) (https://github.com/settings/tokens). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to api.github.com over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.

Data sources

Live from the GitHub Actions API (api.github.com) with a BYOK key; documentation: https://docs.github.com/en/rest/actions. Endpoints checked against that documentation on 2026-10-16.

What it is not

Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by GitHub Actions. GitHub Actions and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with. It is read-only: it never creates, changes, sends or deletes anything in your GitHub Actions account.
