What GitHub API Insights (BYOK) is for
GitHub API Insights (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own GitHub API Insights data through the GitHub API Insights API with a key you supply (personal access token (organization owner)). Read-only: 8 tools (get_summary_stats, get_summary_stats_by_actor, get_summary_stats_by_user, get_time_stats, get_time_stats_by_actor, get_subject_stats, get_user_stats, get_route_stats_by_actor). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to api.github.com. Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by GitHub API Insights. GitHub API Insights and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with.
Ask your assistant things like:
- "How many GitHub API requests did octo-org make in October?"
- "How many API requests did fine-grained token 1234 make for octo-org this month?"
- "How many API requests did user 583231 make for octo-org this month?"
- "Show hourly GitHub API request counts for octo-org over the last day"
- "Show hourly API request counts of fine-grained token 1234 in octo-org"
- "Which targets received the most GitHub API requests in octo-org this month?"
What it does
get_summary_stats: Get the total number of API requests and rate-limited requests of an organization in a period.get_summary_stats_by_actor: Get total and rate-limited API request counts of one actor (token, app installation or OAuth app) in a period.get_summary_stats_by_user: Get total and rate-limited API request counts of one organization member in a period.get_time_stats: Get an organization's API request counts broken down into time buckets (5m, 1h, 1d ...).get_time_stats_by_actor: Get one actor's API request counts broken down into time buckets.get_subject_stats: List the subjects (repositories, users or other targets) that received API requests in an organization, with request and rate-limit counts.get_user_stats: List the actors (tokens, apps) a member used to call the API in an organization, with request and rate-limit counts.get_route_stats_by_actor: List the API routes one actor called in an organization, with request and rate-limit counts per route.
BYOK key
You bring your own GitHub API Insights personal access token (organization owner) (https://github.com/settings/tokens). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to api.github.com over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.
