What GitHub Codespaces (BYOK) is for
GitHub Codespaces (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own GitHub Codespaces data through the GitHub Codespaces API with a key you supply (GitHub personal access token (classic with codespace scope, or fine-grained with codespaces read permission)). Read-only: 9 tools (list_my_codespaces, get_codespace, list_codespace_machines, list_repo_codespaces, list_org_codespaces, list_repo_devcontainers, list_repo_machine_types, check_devcontainer_permissions, get_default_codespace_attributes). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to api.github.com. Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by GitHub Codespaces. GitHub Codespaces and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with.
Ask your assistant things like:
- "Which codespaces do I have and are they running?"
- "Show codespace octocat-hello-world-g4wpq6h95q."
- "Which machine types can codespace octocat-hello-world-g4wpq6h95q change to?"
- "Do I have codespaces for octocat/hello-world?"
- "Which codespaces exist in the octo-org organization?"
- "Which devcontainer configurations does octocat/hello-world have?"
What it does
list_my_codespaces: List the token owner's codespaces with state, repository, machine type, branch status and last-used time.get_codespace: Get one of the token owner's codespaces by name with state, machine, git status and timeouts.list_codespace_machines: List the machine types a given codespace can be switched to.list_repo_codespaces: List the token owner's codespaces in one repository.list_org_codespaces: List all codespaces owned or billed to an organization (requires organization admin access).list_repo_devcontainers: List the devcontainer configurations found in a repository.list_repo_machine_types: List the machine types available for new codespaces in a repository.check_devcontainer_permissions: Check whether the token owner has accepted the extra permissions requested by a devcontainer configuration.get_default_codespace_attributes: Get the default location and devcontainer path a new codespace in a repository would use, and who would be billed.
BYOK key
You bring your own GitHub Codespaces GitHub personal access token (classic with codespace scope, or fine-grained with codespaces read permission) (https://github.com/settings/tokens). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to api.github.com over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.
