What GitHub Copilot (BYOK) is for

GitHub Copilot (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own GitHub Copilot data through the GitHub Copilot API with a key you supply (GitHub personal access token of an organization owner (manage_billing:copilot or read:org scope, plus the Copilot metrics scope for reports)). Read-only: 10 tools (get_copilot_billing, list_copilot_seats, get_user_copilot_seat, get_cloud_agent_permissions, list_cloud_agent_repositories, get_repository_cloud_agent_config, get_org_usage_report_28_day, get_org_usage_report_for_day, get_org_users_report_28_day, get_org_repos_report_for_day). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to api.github.com. Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by GitHub Copilot. GitHub Copilot and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with.

Ask your assistant things like:

  • "How many Copilot seats does octo-org use and how many are inactive?"
  • "Which octo-org members have not used Copilot recently?"
  • "Does octocat have a Copilot seat in octo-org and when was it last used?"
  • "Is the Copilot cloud agent enabled for octo-org?"
  • "Which octo-org repositories have the Copilot cloud agent enabled?"
  • "How is the Copilot cloud agent configured in octo-org/Hello-World?"

What it does

  • get_copilot_billing: Get an organization's Copilot plan, seat counts (total, active, inactive, pending) and feature settings such as IDE chat, platform chat and CLI.
  • list_copilot_seats: List the Copilot seat assignments of an organization with assignee login, last activity, last editor and any pending cancellation date.
  • get_user_copilot_seat: Get the Copilot seat details of one organization member: last activity, editor, plan and assigning team.
  • get_cloud_agent_permissions: Show which repositories of an organization may use the Copilot cloud agent: all, selected or none.
  • list_cloud_agent_repositories: List the repositories enabled for the Copilot cloud agent when the organization uses a selected set.
  • get_repository_cloud_agent_config: Get a repository's Copilot cloud agent configuration: enabled tools, firewall state and approval requirements.
  • get_org_usage_report_28_day: Get download links and the date range of the latest 28-day Copilot usage report for an organization.
  • get_org_usage_report_for_day: Get download links of the organization-wide Copilot usage report for one day.
  • get_org_users_report_28_day: Get download links and date range of the latest 28-day per-user Copilot usage report for an organization.
  • get_org_repos_report_for_day: Get download links of the per-repository Copilot usage report of an organization for one day.

BYOK key

You bring your own GitHub Copilot GitHub personal access token of an organization owner (manage_billing:copilot or read:org scope, plus the Copilot metrics scope for reports) (https://github.com/settings/tokens). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to api.github.com over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.

Data sources

Live from the GitHub Copilot API (api.github.com) with a BYOK key; documentation: https://docs.github.com/en/rest/copilot. Endpoints checked against that documentation on 2026-10-16.

What it is not

Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by GitHub Copilot. GitHub Copilot and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with. It is read-only: it never creates, changes, sends or deletes anything in your GitHub Copilot account.
