What GoDaddy Domains (BYOK) is for

GoDaddy Domains (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own GoDaddy Domains data through the GoDaddy Domains API with a key you supply (GoDaddy personal access token (PAT) with the domains read scope). Read-only: 6 tools (list_domains, get_domain, list_dns_records, check_domain_availability, suggest_domains, get_domain_operation). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to api.godaddy.com. What it does

  • list_domains: List the domains registered in the GoDaddy account with status, expiry and creation dates, auto-renew, privacy, transfer lock and name servers. Follow the 'next' link's pageToken to continue.
  • get_domain: Get one registered domain by name with status, dates, auto-renew, privacy, transfer lock and name servers.
  • list_dns_records: List the DNS records of a domain's GoDaddy-managed zone with type, name, data, TTL and priority, optionally filtered by type or name.
  • check_domain_availability: Check whether one domain name can be registered, with indicative first-year and renewal prices. Amounts are integers in the currency's minor unit with an implied decimal fraction (1199 with USD means 11.99). This only asks; it does not reserve or buy.
  • suggest_domains: Suggest domain names for a keyword or phrase with indicative prices. Amounts are integers in the currency's minor unit with an implied decimal fraction (1199 with USD means 11.99). This only asks; it does not reserve or buy.
  • get_domain_operation: Check the status of an asynchronous domain operation by id (for example a registration started elsewhere): status, result or error and timestamps.

BYOK key

You bring your own GoDaddy Domains GoDaddy personal access token (PAT) with the domains read scope (https://developer.godaddy.com/). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to api.godaddy.com over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.
