What GrowthBook Targeting and SDKs (BYOK) is for

GrowthBook Targeting and SDKs (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own GrowthBook Targeting and SDKs data through the GrowthBook Targeting and SDKs API with a key you supply (API secret key (starts with secret_; a read-only role is enough)). Read-only: 9 tools (list_saved_groups, get_saved_group, get_saved_group_references, list_sdk_connections, list_namespaces, get_namespace, list_holdouts, list_metric_groups, list_experiment_templates). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to api.growthbook.io. What it does

  • list_saved_groups: List saved groups (reusable targeting groups defined by a condition or a list of ids) with name, type, attribute, condition and projects. The list members themselves are not returned.
  • get_saved_group: Get one saved group with its type, attribute key, condition, description and projects. List members are not returned.
  • get_saved_group_references: Show which features, experiments, bandits and other saved groups use a saved group (id, name, project).
  • list_sdk_connections: List SDK connections (one per app and environment) with name, languages, SDK version, environment, projects and options such as payload encryption and remote evaluation. Client keys, encryption keys and signing keys are not returned.
  • list_namespaces: List namespaces (groups of mutually exclusive experiments sharing a hash attribute) with status, format and hash attribute.
  • get_namespace: Get one namespace with its display name, status, format, hash attribute and seed.
  • list_holdouts: List holdouts (user groups withheld from experiments to measure cumulative impact) with name, stage, size, tracking key and dates. Targeting rules and metric lists are left out.
  • list_metric_groups: List metric groups (named sets of metrics reused in experiments) with name, description, tags, projects, data source and member metric ids.
  • list_experiment_templates: List experiment templates (reusable experiment settings) with hypothesis, tags, data source, hash attribute, stats engine and metric ids.

BYOK key

You bring your own GrowthBook Targeting and SDKs API secret key (starts with secret_; a read-only role is enough) (https://docs.growthbook.io/api). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to api.growthbook.io over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.
