What Guru Knowledge Agents (BYOK) is for

Guru Knowledge Agents (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own Guru Knowledge Agents data through the Guru Knowledge Agents API with a key you supply (Guru user email (the API username)). Read-only: 6 tools (list_knowledge_agents, get_knowledge_agent, get_agent_accessible_sources, list_unverified_cards, list_announcements, list_collection_group_access). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to api.getguru.com.   • "Which knowledge agents exist in our Guru?"
  • "Describe Guru knowledge agent a1b2c3."
  • "Which Guru collections can agent a1b2c3 use?"
  • "Which Guru cards are waiting to be verified?"
  • "Which Guru announcements have been sent and how many were read?"
  • "Which groups can access Guru collection c9d8e7?"

What it does

  • list_knowledge_agents: List the Guru knowledge agents with name, description, type, whether they use all sources, show in the search bar and allow chat or research.
  • get_knowledge_agent: Get one knowledge agent by id: name, description, type, web search mode and feature flags.
  • get_agent_accessible_sources: List the collections a knowledge agent can read, with name and whether each is read-only.
  • list_unverified_cards: List cards that need verification: title, verification state and reason, last and next verification dates, interval, collection name and whether auto-archive is pending. Card bodies are not returned.
  • list_announcements: List announcements sent through Guru with card title, send date, scheduled send date and read statistics. Notes and recipient names are not returned.
  • list_collection_group_access: List the groups that have access to a collection and their role (for example ADMIN, AUTHOR or MEMBER). Group members are not returned.

BYOK key

You bring your own Guru Knowledge Agents Guru user email (the API username) (https://help.getguru.com/s/article/how-to-obtain-your-api-credentials). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to api.getguru.com over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.
