What Guru (BYOK) is for

Guru (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own Guru data through the Guru API with a key you supply (Guru user email (the API username)). Read-only: 10 tools (get_whoami, list_teams, get_team_stats, list_collections, list_folders, list_folder_items, search_cards, get_card, list_card_versions, list_tag_categories). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to api.getguru.com. Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Guru. Guru and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with.

Ask your assistant things like:

  • "Which Guru account am I connected as?"
  • "What is my Guru team id?"
  • "How many Guru cards are unverified?"
  • "Which Guru collections do I have?"
  • "What folders exist in the Support collection of Guru?"
  • "What is inside this Guru folder?"

What it does

  • get_whoami: Show the Guru user the credentials belong to, with the team they are on and the type of authentication used.
  • list_teams: List the Guru teams (id, name, status, creation date); the team id is needed for tags and statistics.
  • get_team_stats: Get a team's card counts: trusted and unverified cards, overall trust score and card totals.
  • list_collections: List collections you can access with card, folder and tag counts and default verification interval (collection tokens are not returned).
  • list_folders: List folders (first page, about 110) with collection, card count and last modified date, optionally filtered by text or collection.
  • list_folder_items: List the cards and sub-folders directly inside one folder (first page, up to 50).
  • search_cards: Search cards by text and/or a Guru Query Language filter such as 'lastModified < 7_days_ago'; returns up to 50 metadata rows without card bodies.
  • get_card: Get one card with its HTML content, verification state, collection, tags and owner name.
  • list_card_versions: List a card's version history (first page) with modification dates and verification state.
  • list_tag_categories: List a team's tag categories with the tags in each and how many cards use each tag.

BYOK key

You bring your own Guru Guru user email (the API username) (https://help.getguru.com/s/article/how-to-obtain-your-api-credentials). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to api.getguru.com over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.

Data sources

Live from the Guru API (api.getguru.com) with a BYOK key; documentation: https://developer.getguru.com/docs/getting-started. Endpoints checked against that documentation on 2026-10-16.

What it is not

Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Guru. Guru and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with. It is read-only: it never creates, changes, sends or deletes anything in your Guru account.
