What Harvest Time Off Setup (BYOK) is for

Harvest Time Off Setup (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own Harvest Time Off Setup data through the Harvest Time Off Setup API with a key you supply (personal access token). Read-only: 6 tools (list_time_off_policies, get_time_off_policy, list_holiday_calendars, get_holiday_calendar, list_work_schedules, get_work_schedule). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to api.harvestapp.com. Ask your assistant things like:

What it does

  • list_time_off_policies: List time-off policies (such as Vacation or Sick Leave) with accrual type and schedule, default days per year, carry-over limit and approval rule. The Harvest PTO API is rolled out gradually (other accounts get 403) and needs an Administrator.
  • get_time_off_policy: Get one time-off policy with accrual rules, carry-over limit, approval and visibility settings. The Harvest PTO API is rolled out gradually (other accounts get 403) and needs an Administrator.
  • list_holiday_calendars: List holiday calendars with the holidays (name and date) in each. The Harvest PTO API is rolled out gradually (other accounts get 403) and needs an Administrator.
  • get_holiday_calendar: Get one holiday calendar with its holiday entries. The Harvest PTO API is rolled out gradually (other accounts get 403) and needs an Administrator.
  • list_work_schedules: List work schedules with working hours for each weekday and the weekly total. The Harvest PTO API is rolled out gradually (other accounts get 403) and needs an Administrator.
  • get_work_schedule: Get one work schedule with hours per weekday. The Harvest PTO API is rolled out gradually (other accounts get 403) and needs an Administrator.

BYOK key

You bring your own Harvest Time Off Setup personal access token (https://id.getharvest.com/developers). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to api.harvestapp.com over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.
