What HERE Public Transit API (your key) is for

HERE Public Transit API (your key) lets an AI assistant read your own HERE Transit data through the HERE Transit API with a key you supply (HERE API key). Read-only: 6 tools (plan_transit_route, list_next_departures_by_station, list_next_departures_nearby, search_transit_stations, list_stations_by_id, get_service_version). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to transit.hereapi.com. What it does

  • plan_transit_route: Plan public transit routes between two coordinates, by departure or arrival time, with sections (walk, transit lines, transfers), times and optional alternatives; returns the provider's JSON.
  • list_next_departures_by_station: List the next departures of one or more stations by station id (from search_transit_stations): line, direction, mode and scheduled and real-time times; returns the provider's JSON.
  • list_next_departures_nearby: List the next departures of the stations around a point, with line, direction, mode and times; returns the provider's JSON.
  • search_transit_stations: Search public transit stations and stops by name, optionally near a point, or by coordinates only; returns id, name, type and position.
  • list_stations_by_id: Get stations by id with their position and the transit lines (transports) that serve them.
  • get_service_version: Show the Public Transit API version and service version, to confirm that the key can reach the service.

BYOK key

You bring your own HERE Transit HERE API key (https://platform.here.com/admin/apps). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to transit.hereapi.com over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.
