What HERE Destination Weather API (your key) is for

HERE Destination Weather API (your key) lets an AI assistant read your own HERE Weather data through the HERE Weather API with a key you supply (HERE API key). Read-only: 7 tools (get_current_weather, get_hourly_forecast, get_7_day_forecast, get_7_day_forecast_simple, get_astronomy_forecast, get_weather_alerts, get_service_version). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to weather.hereapi.com. What it does

  • get_current_weather: Current weather observations near a coordinate: temperature, sky, wind, humidity, pressure, visibility and UV index; returns the provider's JSON.
  • get_hourly_forecast: Hourly weather forecast for a coordinate (optionally for one date): temperature, precipitation probability, wind and sky; returns the provider's JSON.
  • get_7_day_forecast: Detailed 7-day daily forecast for a coordinate: day and night descriptions, high and low temperatures, precipitation, wind and UV; returns the provider's JSON.
  • get_7_day_forecast_simple: Compact 7-day forecast for a coordinate with one summary per day (high, low, description); returns the provider's JSON.
  • get_astronomy_forecast: Sunrise, sunset, moonrise, moonset and moon phase for the coming days at a coordinate; returns the provider's JSON.
  • get_weather_alerts: Severe weather alerts active for a coordinate with type and description; returns the provider's JSON.
  • get_service_version: Show the Weather API version.

BYOK key

You bring your own HERE Weather HERE API key (https://platform.here.com/admin/apps). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to weather.hereapi.com over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.
