What Instatus (BYOK) is for

Instatus (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own Instatus data through the Instatus API with a key you supply (Instatus API key). Read-only: 7 tools (list_pages, list_components, get_component, list_incidents, get_incident, list_maintenances, get_maintenance). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to api.instatus.com. Ask your assistant things like:

  • "Which Instatus status pages do I have?"
  • "Which Instatus components are not operational?"
  • "Show Instatus component details"
  • "What incidents has my Instatus page had?"
  • "Show Instatus incident details"
  • "What maintenance is planned on my Instatus page?"

What it does

  • list_pages: List the status pages of the account with name, subdomain, custom domain, overall status (UP, HASISSUES, ALLUNDERMAINTENANCE and the granular outage states) and dates.
  • list_components: List the components of a status page with status (OPERATIONAL, UNDERMAINTENANCE, DEGRADEDPERFORMANCE, PARTIALOUTAGE, MAJOROUTAGE), description and group.
  • get_component: Get one component of a status page by id.
  • list_incidents: List incidents of a status page with status (INVESTIGATING, IDENTIFIED, MONITORING, RESOLVED), start and resolve time. Filter by status.
  • get_incident: Get one incident by id: name, status, start and resolve time.
  • list_maintenances: List maintenances of a status page with status (NOTSTARTEDYET, INPROGRESS, COMPLETED), planned start and duration in minutes.
  • get_maintenance: Get one maintenance by id: status, start, duration and notification settings.

BYOK key

You bring your own Instatus Instatus API key (https://dashboard.instatus.com/developer). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to api.instatus.com over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.
