What IONOS Certificate Manager (BYOK) is for

IONOS Certificate Manager (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own IONOS Certificate Manager data through the IONOS Certificate Manager API with a key you supply (IONOS Cloud API token (JWT)). Read-only: 5 tools (list_certificates, get_certificate, list_auto_certificates, get_auto_certificate, list_acme_providers). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to certificate-manager.de-fra.ionos.com. Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by IONOS Certificate Manager. IONOS Certificate Manager and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with.

Ask your assistant things like:

  • "Which of my IONOS certificates are about to expire?"
  • "Show IONOS certificate c1."
  • "Which automatic certificates does IONOS renew for me?"
  • "Show IONOS automatic certificate a1."
  • "Which ACME providers are set up for IONOS certificates?"

What it does

  • list_certificates: List TLS certificates with name, common name, alternative names, validity dates, expired flag and serial number. Certificate bodies and private keys are never returned.
  • get_certificate: Get one certificate: name, state, common name, alternative names, validity dates and serial number. The certificate body and private key are left out.
  • list_auto_certificates: List automatic (ACME) certificate orders with name, provider, common name, key algorithm and last issued certificate.
  • get_auto_certificate: Get one automatic certificate order: state, provider, common name, key algorithm, alternative names and last issued certificate.
  • list_acme_providers: List the ACME certificate providers configured for the account with name, server URL and state. Account binding secrets are never returned.

BYOK key

You bring your own IONOS Certificate Manager IONOS Cloud API token (JWT) (https://docs.ionos.com/cloud/set-up-ionos-cloud/management/identity-access-management/token-manager). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to certificate-manager.de-fra.ionos.com over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.

Data sources

Live from the IONOS Certificate Manager API (certificate-manager.de-fra.ionos.com) with a BYOK key; documentation: https://docs.ionos.com/cloud/api-reference/network-services/certificate-manager. Endpoints checked against that documentation on 2026-10-16.

What it is not

Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by IONOS Certificate Manager. IONOS Certificate Manager and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with. It is read-only: it never creates, changes, sends or deletes anything in your IONOS Certificate Manager account.
