What IONOS PostgreSQL (BYOK) is for

IONOS PostgreSQL (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own IONOS PostgreSQL data through the IONOS PostgreSQL API with a key you supply (IONOS Cloud API token (JWT)). Read-only: 5 tools (list_clusters, get_cluster, list_backups, list_backup_locations, list_postgres_versions). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to postgresql.de-txl.ionos.com, postgresql.de-fra.ionos.com, postgresql.fr-par.ionos.com, postgresql.es-vit.ionos.com, postgresql.gb-lhr.ionos.com, postgresql.gb-bhx.ionos.com, postgresql.us-las.ionos.com, postgresql.us-mci.ionos.com, postgresql.us-ewr.ionos.com. What it does

  • list_clusters: List managed PostgreSQL clusters in a region with name, version, instance count, cores, RAM, storage, replication mode, state and DNS name. Credentials are never returned.
  • get_cluster: Get one PostgreSQL cluster: version, sizing, state, DNS name, replication mode, connection pooler, maintenance window and backup settings. Credentials are never returned.
  • list_backups: List PostgreSQL backups in a region with cluster, version, whether the cluster is active, earliest and latest recovery time and location.
  • list_backup_locations: List the locations where PostgreSQL backups can be stored in a region.
  • list_postgres_versions: List the PostgreSQL versions offered in a region with status, comment and upgrade targets.

BYOK key

You bring your own IONOS PostgreSQL IONOS Cloud API token (JWT) (https://docs.ionos.com/cloud/set-up-ionos-cloud/management/identity-access-management/token-manager). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to postgresql.de-txl.ionos.com, postgresql.de-fra.ionos.com, postgresql.fr-par.ionos.com, postgresql.es-vit.ionos.com, postgresql.gb-lhr.ionos.com, postgresql.gb-bhx.ionos.com, postgresql.us-las.ionos.com, postgresql.us-mci.ionos.com, postgresql.us-ewr.ionos.com over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.
