What IPinfo (BYOK) is for

IPinfo (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own IPinfo data through the IPinfo API with a key you supply (access token). Read-only: 4 tools (lookup_ip_lite, lookup_my_ip_lite, lookup_ip_core, lookup_my_ip_core). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to api.ipinfo.io. Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by IPinfo. IPinfo and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with.

Ask your assistant things like:

  • "Which country and network does the IP address 8.8.8.8 belong to?"
  • "What country and network is the connector's own IP address in?"
  • "Which city is the IP address 1.1.1.1 in, and is it a hosting address?"
  • "Where is the connector's own IP address located?"

What it does

  • lookup_ip_lite: Look up an IP address with the free Lite API: country, continent and the autonomous system (ASN, network name and domain) that announces it.
  • lookup_my_ip_lite: Look up the public IP address the request comes from with the free Lite API: country, continent and ASN details. This shows the connector's server address, not necessarily your own device.
  • lookup_ip_core: Look up an IP address with the Core API: city, region, coordinates, time zone, postal code, ASN, and flags for anonymous, anycast, hosting, mobile and satellite addresses. Needs a plan that includes Core.
  • lookup_my_ip_core: Look up the public IP address the request comes from with the Core API: location, time zone, ASN and network flags. Shows the connector's server address. Needs a plan that includes Core.

BYOK key

You bring your own IPinfo access token (https://ipinfo.io/dashboard). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to api.ipinfo.io over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.

Data sources

Live from the IPinfo API (api.ipinfo.io) with a BYOK key; documentation: https://ipinfo.io/developers. Endpoints checked against that documentation on 2026-10-16.

What it is not

Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by IPinfo. IPinfo and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with. It is read-only: it never creates, changes, sends or deletes anything in your IPinfo account.
