What JW Player (BYOK) is for

JW Player (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own JW Player data through the JW Player API with a key you supply (API v2 secret). Read-only: 10 tools (list_media, get_media, list_playlists, get_playlist, list_players, list_live_channels, list_tags, list_series, list_media_protection_rules, list_webhooks). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to api.jwplayer.com.   • "What videos are in my JW Player library?"
  • "Show details of this JW Player video"
  • "What playlists do I have on JW Player?"
  • "Show details of this JW Player playlist"
  • "Which JW Player players have I set up?"
  • "What live channels do I have on JW Player?"

What it does

  • list_media: List the media (videos and audio) of a JW Player property with title, status, type, duration, tags and dates. Sorted newest first by default.
  • get_media: Get one JW Player media item by id: title, description, author, status, duration, tags and publish dates.
  • list_playlists: List the playlists of a JW Player property with title, type, description and dates.
  • get_playlist: Get one JW Player playlist by id: title, type, description and default flag.
  • list_players: List the player configurations of a JW Player property with name, release channel and version. Setup config is not returned.
  • list_live_channels: List the live channels of a JW Player property with title, status, DVR and latency mode. Stream keys are not returned.
  • list_tags: List the media tags used in a JW Player property with their names.
  • list_series: List the series of a JW Player property with episode, season counts and total duration.
  • list_media_protection_rules: List the geo-based media protection rules of a JW Player property with name, allow or deny type and countries.
  • list_webhooks: List the account webhooks with name, description and subscribed events. The webhook URL is not returned.

BYOK key

You bring your own JW Player API v2 secret (https://dashboard.jwplayer.com/account/developer-tools/management-api). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to api.jwplayer.com over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.
