What Kakao Daum Search (BYOK) is for

Kakao Daum Search (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own Kakao Daum Search data through the Kakao Daum Search API with a key you supply (Kakao REST API key). Read-only: 6 tools (search_web, search_blogs, search_cafes, search_videos, search_images, search_books). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to dapi.kakao.com. Kakao Daum Search and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with.

  • "Find Daum blog posts about 제주 여행"
  • "Find Daum Cafe posts about 중고 자전거"

What it does

  • search_web: Search Daum web documents and return title, a content excerpt, URL and creation time. Titles may contain tags around matches.
  • search_blogs: Search Daum Blog posts; add a blog URL after the query, separated by a space, to search inside one blog.
  • search_cafes: Search posts in Daum Cafe communities, returning title, excerpt, URL, cafe name and date.
  • search_videos: Search videos from platforms such as YouTube and Kakao TV, returning title, link, length in seconds, uploader and date.
  • search_images: Search Daum images, returning image URL, thumbnail URL, size, source site and the page that contains it.
  • search_books: Search Daum Book for books by keyword, ISBN, publisher or author, returning title, authors, publisher, ISBN, prices and sales status.

BYOK key

You bring your own Kakao Daum Search Kakao REST API key (https://developers.kakao.com/console/app). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to dapi.kakao.com over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.
