What Karbon (BYOK) is for

Karbon (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own Karbon data through the Karbon API with a key you supply (Karbon API application Bearer token (36 character GUID)). Read-only: 7 tools (list_work_items, get_work_item, list_organizations, list_contacts, list_users, list_teams, list_work_templates). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to api.karbonhq.com. Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Karbon. Karbon and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with.

Ask your assistant things like:

  • "Which Karbon work items are in progress?"
  • "Show Karbon work item 2dKq8mVx1Pz9"
  • "Which organization clients do we have in Karbon?"
  • "Find the Karbon contact john@acme.example"
  • "Who are the users in our Karbon account?"
  • "What teams exist in Karbon?"

What it does

  • list_work_items: List Karbon work items with title, client, assignee, dates, work type, status and estimated budget. Filter with an OData expression; page with top and skip.
  • get_work_item: Get one Karbon work item by key with title, client, assignee, dates, work type, status, estimated budget and fee type.
  • list_organizations: List Karbon client organizations with name, email, phone, website and last modified time. Filter with an OData expression; page with top and skip.
  • list_contacts: List Karbon client contacts (people) with name, email, role, owner, manager and last modified time. Filter with an OData expression; page with top and skip.
  • list_users: List the Karbon users of your firm with id, name and email. Page with top and skip.
  • list_teams: List the Karbon teams with name, description and parent team. Page with top and skip.
  • list_work_templates: List Karbon work templates with title, work type, publish date and how many work items were created from them. Page with top and skip.

BYOK key

You bring your own Karbon Karbon API application Bearer token (36 character GUID) (https://developers.karbonhq.com/guides/authentication/). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to api.karbonhq.com over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.

Data sources

Live from the Karbon API (api.karbonhq.com) with a BYOK key; documentation: https://developers.karbonhq.com/. Endpoints checked against that documentation on 2026-10-16.

What it is not

Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Karbon. Karbon and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with. It is read-only: it never creates, changes, sends or deletes anything in your Karbon account.
