What Knit (BYOK) is for
Knit (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own Knit data through the Knit API with a key you supply (Knit API key (API Keys page of the Knit dashboard; US region)). Read-only: 8 tools (list_leave_types, get_leave_balance, list_pay_periods, list_termination_reasons, list_document_categories, list_ats_departments, list_ats_rejection_reasons, list_ats_tags). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to api.getknit.dev. Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Knit. Knit and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with.
Ask your assistant things like:
- "Which leave types does our HR system have?"
- "How much leave does employee 123 have left?"
- "What pay periods are defined in payroll?"
- "Which termination reasons are configured?"
- "Which employee document categories exist?"
- "Which departments exist in our ATS?"
What it does
list_leave_types: List the leave types (vacation, sick, casual and similar) configured in the linked HR system.get_leave_balance: Get the current-year leave balance of one employee per leave type: unit, remaining balance and used amount.list_pay_periods: List the pay periods (name, dates, frequency, processing date, status) defined in the linked payroll system. No pay amounts.list_termination_reasons: List the termination reasons configured in the linked HR system.list_document_categories: List the employee document categories (names only, no documents) of the linked HR system.list_ats_departments: List departments of the linked recruiting system with name, parent and timestamps.list_ats_rejection_reasons: List the rejection reasons configured in the linked recruiting system.list_ats_tags: List the global candidate tags (names only, no candidates) of the linked recruiting system.
BYOK key
You bring your own Knit Knit API key (API Keys page of the Knit dashboard; US region) (https://dashboard.getknit.dev/dashboard/api-keys). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to api.getknit.dev over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.
Data sources
- https://developers.getknit.dev/reference/api-environment (the API this connector calls, with a BYOK key)
Live from the Knit API (api.getknit.dev) with a BYOK key; documentation: https://developers.getknit.dev/reference/api-environment. Endpoints checked against that documentation on 2026-10-16.
What it is not
Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Knit. Knit and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with. It is read-only: it never creates, changes, sends or deletes anything in your Knit account.
