Kombo (BYOK) — connector documentation

What Kombo (BYOK) is for

Kombo (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own Kombo data through the Kombo API with a key you supply (Kombo API key (Secrets page of the Kombo dashboard)). Read-only: 11 tools (check_api_key, get_integration, list_teams, list_groups, list_locations, list_absence_types, list_legal_entities, list_time_off_balances, list_application_stages, list_rejection_reasons, list_ats_tags). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to api.kombo.dev. Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Kombo. Kombo and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with.

Ask your assistant things like:

  • "Is my Kombo API key valid?"
  • "Is my linked HR integration healthy?"
  • "What teams exist in our HR system?"
  • "What groups and departments exist in our HR system?"
  • "Which offices are in our HR system?"
  • "Which absence types does our HR system offer?"

What it does

  • check_api_key: Check that the Kombo API key works and show the environment and customer ids it belongs to.
  • get_integration: Get one linked integration by id: the connected tool, category, status, setup status, organization name, data expiry and creation time.
  • list_teams: List teams (departments, teams, cost centers) of the linked HR system with name, type and parent. Items are returned as Kombo sends them (no personal or pay data on this record type).
  • list_groups: List groups of the linked HR system with name, type and parent, optionally filtered by type or name. Items are returned as Kombo sends them (no personal or pay data on this record type).
  • list_locations: List company locations of the linked HR system with name, type and address. Items are returned as Kombo sends them (no personal or pay data on this record type).
  • list_absence_types: List absence types (vacation, sick leave and similar) with name, unit and half-day support. Items are returned as Kombo sends them (no personal or pay data on this record type).
  • list_legal_entities: List legal entities of the company in the linked HR system with name and address. Items are returned as Kombo sends them (no personal or pay data on this record type).
  • list_time_off_balances: List time off balances per employee and absence type with remaining balance, used amount and units. Items are returned as Kombo sends them (no personal or pay data on this record type).
  • list_application_stages: List the hiring pipeline stages of the linked recruiting system with name and status. Items are returned as Kombo sends them (no personal or pay data on this record type).
  • list_rejection_reasons: List the rejection reasons configured in the linked recruiting system. Items are returned as Kombo sends them (no personal or pay data on this record type).
  • list_ats_tags: List candidate tags configured in the linked recruiting system (tag names only, no candidates). Items are returned as Kombo sends them (no personal or pay data on this record type).

BYOK key

You bring your own Kombo Kombo API key (Secrets page of the Kombo dashboard) (https://app.kombo.dev/secrets). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to api.kombo.dev over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.
