What Kong Konnect API Builder (BYOK) is for

Kong Konnect API Builder (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own Kong Konnect API Builder data through the Kong Konnect API Builder API with a key you supply (Konnect personal or system account access token). Read-only: 12 tools (list_apis, get_api, list_api_versions, list_api_specs, list_api_documents, list_api_operations, list_api_registrations, list_api_publications, list_portal_api_publications, list_api_attributes, list_api_packages, list_api_package_operations). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to us.api.konghq.com, eu.api.konghq.com, au.api.konghq.com, me.api.konghq.com, in.api.konghq.com, sg.api.konghq.com. What it does

  • list_apis: List the APIs of the Konnect API catalog with version, slug, portals they are published to, labels and implementation mode.
  • get_api: Get one API: description, current version summary, portals, labels and attributes.
  • list_api_versions: List the versions of an API with version string and spec type (spec contents are not returned).
  • list_api_specs: List the specification documents of an API with id and type (spec contents are not returned).
  • list_api_documents: List the documentation pages of an API with title, slug, status and parent page (page content is not returned).
  • list_api_operations: List the operations (method and path) of an API with whether each is matched to a gateway route.
  • list_api_registrations: List application registrations for an API with status, portal and application.
  • list_api_publications: List all API publications to developer portals with visibility and registration approval settings.
  • list_portal_api_publications: List the API publications of one developer portal.
  • list_api_attributes: List the custom attribute keys defined for APIs with the values in use.
  • list_api_packages: List API packages (bundles of API operations) with version, slug, rate limit configuration and labels.
  • list_api_package_operations: List the operations contained in an API package with their API and rate limit.

BYOK key

You bring your own Kong Konnect API Builder Konnect personal or system account access token (https://cloud.konghq.com/global/account/tokens/). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to us.api.konghq.com, eu.api.konghq.com, au.api.konghq.com, me.api.konghq.com, in.api.konghq.com, sg.api.konghq.com over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.
