What Kong Konnect Cloud Gateways (BYOK) is for

Kong Konnect Cloud Gateways (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own Kong Konnect Cloud Gateways data through the Kong Konnect Cloud Gateways API with a key you supply (Konnect personal or system account access token). Read-only: 11 tools (list_configurations, get_configuration, list_networks, get_network, list_network_configurations, list_provider_accounts, list_custom_domains, get_custom_domain_online_status, list_resource_quotas, list_add_ons, get_availability). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to global.api.konghq.com. What it does

  • list_configurations: List Dedicated Cloud Gateway configurations with Kong version, API access mode, linked control plane and data plane groups.
  • get_configuration: Get one cloud gateway configuration with its data plane groups (provider, region, state, hostnames, egress IPs).
  • list_networks: List cloud gateway networks with provider account, region, CIDR block, state and the number of transit gateways and configurations using them.
  • get_network: Get one cloud gateway network with state details and the provider VPC and subnet ids.
  • list_network_configurations: List the cloud gateway configurations that reference one network.
  • list_provider_accounts: List the cloud provider accounts (for example AWS account ids) Kong provisions cloud gateways in.
  • list_custom_domains: List custom domains attached to cloud gateway control planes with state and certificate or SNI ids.
  • get_custom_domain_online_status: Check whether a cloud gateway custom domain resolves: returns the CNAME and SSL status.
  • list_resource_quotas: List the cloud gateway resource quotas of the organization (for example maximum networks or configurations) with current values.
  • list_add_ons: List cloud gateway add-ons (for example managed cache) with owner, state and configuration.
  • get_availability: Show which Kong versions, instance types, providers and regions are available for Dedicated Cloud Gateways.

BYOK key

You bring your own Kong Konnect Cloud Gateways Konnect personal or system account access token (https://cloud.konghq.com/global/account/tokens/). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to global.api.konghq.com over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.
