What Lightdash (BYOK) is for

Lightdash (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own Lightdash data through the Lightdash API with a key you supply (Lightdash personal access token (project settings > personal access tokens)). Read-only: 7 tools (get_authenticated_user, get_organization, list_projects, get_project, list_spaces, list_charts, list_dashboards). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to *.lightdash.cloud. Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Lightdash. Lightdash and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with.

Ask your assistant things like:

  • "Which Lightdash user is my token connected to?"
  • "What is my Lightdash organization and its default project?"
  • "Which Lightdash projects do we have?"
  • "Show the Lightdash project 3675b69e-8324-4110-bdca-059031aa8da3"
  • "What spaces exist in my Lightdash project?"
  • "Which charts are saved in my Lightdash project?"

What it does

  • get_authenticated_user: Show the Lightdash user the token belongs to: name, email, role and organization.
  • get_organization: Show the Lightdash organization: name, id, default project and creation time.
  • list_projects: List the organization's Lightdash projects with name, type, warehouse type and creator.
  • get_project: Get one Lightdash project: name, type, time zone settings and organization.
  • list_spaces: List the spaces (folders) of a Lightdash project with name, path and counts of charts and dashboards.
  • list_charts: List the saved charts of a Lightdash project with name, space, chart type, view count and last update.
  • list_dashboards: List the dashboards of a Lightdash project with name, description, view count and last update.

BYOK key

You bring your own Lightdash Lightdash personal access token (project settings > personal access tokens) (https://docs.lightdash.com/references/personal_tokens). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to *.lightdash.cloud over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.

Data sources

Live from the Lightdash API (*.lightdash.cloud) with a BYOK key; documentation: https://docs.lightdash.com/api-reference/v1/introduction. Endpoints checked against that documentation on 2026-10-16.

What it is not

Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Lightdash. Lightdash and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with. It is read-only: it never creates, changes, sends or deletes anything in your Lightdash account.
