What Mackerel (BYOK) is for

Mackerel (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own Mackerel data through the Mackerel API with a key you supply (Mackerel API key (read permission is enough)). Read-only: 12 tools (get_organization, list_services, list_roles, list_hosts, get_host, list_host_metric_names, get_host_metrics, get_latest_metric, list_alerts, get_alert, list_monitors, list_dashboards). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to api.mackerelio.com. Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Mackerel. Mackerel and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with.

Ask your assistant things like:

  • "Which Mackerel organization is my API key for?"
  • "What services do I monitor in Mackerel?"
  • "Which roles does the Mackerel service Hatena-Blog have?"
  • "Which hosts are in the web role of the Mackerel service Hatena-Blog?"
  • "Show details of Mackerel host 3vZHfLBsmHJ"
  • "Which metrics does Mackerel host 3vZHfLBsmHJ report?"

What it does

  • get_organization: Show the Mackerel organization the key belongs to: its name and display name.
  • list_services: List the monitored services of the organization with their notes and role names.
  • list_roles: List the roles (server groups) of one service with their notes.
  • list_hosts: List registered hosts (default: working and standby ones) with status, roles, size and registration time; filter by service, role, name, status or custom identifier.
  • get_host: Get one host by id: name, status, roles per service, size, notes, registration and retirement information.
  • list_host_metric_names: List the metric names an agent has posted for one host, such as loadavg5 or memory.used.
  • get_host_metrics: Get the values of one metric of one host between two Unix times, in time order. Pick a name from list_host_metric_names.
  • get_latest_metric: Get the newest value of one metric for one host (one call per host and metric name).
  • list_alerts: List alerts newest first (open ones by default) with status, monitor id, host id, value or message and open and close times (Unix seconds); page with next_id.
  • get_alert: Get one alert by id with status, type, monitor id, host id, measured value or message and times.
  • list_monitors: List the monitor rules (host metric, service metric, connectivity, external, expression and check monitors) with their names, thresholds and scopes.
  • list_dashboards: List the custom dashboards with title, URL path, notes and creation and update times (Unix seconds).

BYOK key

You bring your own Mackerel Mackerel API key (read permission is enough) (https://mackerel.io/my?tab=apikeys). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to api.mackerelio.com over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.

Data sources

Live from the Mackerel API (api.mackerelio.com) with a BYOK key; documentation: https://mackerel.io/api-docs/. Endpoints checked against that documentation on 2026-10-16.

What it is not

Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Mackerel. Mackerel and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with. It is read-only: it never creates, changes, sends or deletes anything in your Mackerel account.
