What Mailchimp Audiences (BYOK) is for
Mailchimp Audiences (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own Mailchimp Audiences data through the Mailchimp Audiences API with a key you supply (API key (its suffix after the hyphen is your server prefix)). Read-only: 9 tools (get_audience, list_growth_history, get_growth_month, list_interest_categories, list_category_interests, list_merge_fields, list_audience_webhooks, list_top_email_clients, list_subscriber_locations). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to *.api.mailchimp.com. Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Mailchimp Audiences. Mailchimp Audiences and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with.
Ask your assistant things like:
- "How many active members does my Mailchimp audience 57afe96172 have?"
- "How did my Mailchimp audience grow month by month?"
- "How many people unsubscribed from my Mailchimp audience in September 2026?"
- "Which interest groups does my Mailchimp audience offer?"
- "Which interests are in the Mailchimp interest category 9143cf3bd1?"
- "Which custom fields does my Mailchimp audience have?"
What it does
get_audience: Get one audience: name, creation date, double opt-in and marketing permission settings, rating, default campaign sender name, subject and language, subscribe link and statistics (member, unsubscribe and cleaned counts, average rates, last subscribe and unsubscribe dates). Contact address and notification emails are not returned.list_growth_history: List a month-by-month summary of an audience's growth: subscribed total, new unsubscribes, cleaned, pending, deleted and reconfirmed members.get_growth_month: Get an audience's growth numbers for one month (format YYYY-MM).list_interest_categories: List an audience's interest categories (group titles on signup forms) with type (checkboxes, dropdown, radio, hidden) and display order.list_category_interests: List the interests (group names) in one interest category with display order and subscriber count.list_merge_fields: List an audience's merge fields (custom contact fields) with tag, type, required and public flags, default value and display order, plus the plan's merge field limit.list_audience_webhooks: List an audience's webhooks with the events (subscribe, unsubscribe, profile, cleaned, campaign) and sources (user, admin, api) that trigger each, and whether signing is on. The webhook URL is not returned.list_top_email_clients: List the email clients (user agents) most used by an audience's subscribers with member counts.list_subscriber_locations: List the countries an audience's subscribers are located in (from IP geocoding) with subscriber counts and percentages.
BYOK key
You bring your own Mailchimp Audiences API key (its suffix after the hyphen is your server prefix) (https://mailchimp.com/help/about-api-keys/). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to *.api.mailchimp.com over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.

Live from the Mailchimp Audiences API (*.api.mailchimp.com) with a BYOK key; documentation: https://mailchimp.com/developer/marketing/api/lists/get.md. Endpoints checked against that documentation on 2026-10-16.
