What Metaplane (BYOK) is for

Metaplane (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own Metaplane data through the Metaplane API with a key you supply (Metaplane API key). Read-only: 8 tools (list_connections, get_connection_sync_status, list_connection_monitors, get_monitor, get_monitor_status, get_monitor_evaluation_history, list_tagged_monitors, list_tagged_objects). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to dev.api.metaplane.dev. Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Metaplane. Metaplane and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with.

Ask your assistant things like:

  • "Which sources are connected to Metaplane?"
  • "Is my Metaplane connection syncing without errors?"
  • "Which monitors does Metaplane run on my warehouse?"
  • "Show details of Metaplane monitor {monitor_id}"
  • "Is Metaplane monitor {monitor_id} passing?"
  • "How did Metaplane monitor {monitor_id} evaluate over time?"

What it does

  • list_connections: List the data stack connections (warehouses, BI tools, dbt, Airflow, Fivetran and more) with name, type, enabled state and status.
  • get_connection_sync_status: Get the current sync status of a connection with the time and the error message of the last sync, if any. This only reads the status and does not start a sync.
  • list_connection_monitors: List the monitors of one connection with type, name, schedule, monitored table or column path, enabled state and tags. SQL and thresholds are left out.
  • get_monitor: Get one monitor by id: type, name, schedule, monitored path, enabled state, tags and change times. SQL and thresholds are left out.
  • get_monitor_status: Get the latest evaluation of a monitor per group: result, lower and upper bound, status (PASS, FAIL, IN_TRAINING and more) and open incident ids.
  • get_monitor_evaluation_history: Get the past evaluations of a monitor, newest first: result, expected bounds, pass or fail status and time. A question only, nothing is changed.
  • list_tagged_monitors: List the monitors that carry a tag, with type, name, schedule, monitored path and enabled state.
  • list_tagged_objects: List the tables and columns that carry a tag, as type and absolute path (database.schema.table.column). Pages are chained with next_page_token.

BYOK key

You bring your own Metaplane Metaplane API key (https://docs.metaplane.dev/reference/getallconnections). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to dev.api.metaplane.dev over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.

Data sources

Live from the Metaplane API (dev.api.metaplane.dev) with a BYOK key; documentation: https://docs.metaplane.dev/reference/getallconnections. Endpoints checked against that documentation on 2026-10-16.

What it is not

Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Metaplane. Metaplane and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with. It is read-only: it never creates, changes, sends or deletes anything in your Metaplane account.
