What Mixedbread (BYOK) is for

Mixedbread (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own Mixedbread data through the Mixedbread API with a key you supply (API key). Read-only: 8 tools (list_stores, get_store, list_store_files, get_store_file, list_store_events, list_events, list_files, get_file). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to api.mixedbread.com. Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Mixedbread. Mixedbread and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with.

Ask your assistant things like:

  • "Which Mixedbread stores do I have and how many files are in each?"
  • "How many files in my Mixedbread store have finished indexing?"
  • "Which files are in my Mixedbread store and did any fail?"
  • "Is this file in my Mixedbread store indexed?"
  • "What searches were run against my Mixedbread store recently?"
  • "How many ingestion events happened across my Mixedbread stores?"

What it does

  • list_stores: List Mixedbread stores (searchable collections) with status, file counts, size, token usage and dates. Cursor paginated.
  • get_store: Get one Mixedbread store by ID or name: status, file counts by state, usage, tags and dates.
  • list_store_files: List the files indexed in a Mixedbread store with status, size, token usage and errors. Cursor paginated; can filter by name text.
  • get_store_file: Get one file of a Mixedbread store by ID with its indexing status, size and last error.
  • list_store_events: List usage events of one store of a given type (ingestion, search, grep, QA and so on) with pagination and optional time filters.
  • list_events: List usage events across all stores of the organization for a given event type, optionally for one store, with time filters and pagination.
  • list_files: List the files uploaded to the Mixedbread account with name, size, type, version and dates. Cursor paginated.
  • get_file: Get one uploaded Mixedbread file by ID: name, size, MIME type, version and dates (not its content).

BYOK key

You bring your own Mixedbread API key (https://platform.mixedbread.com/platform?next=api-keys). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to api.mixedbread.com over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.

Data sources

Live from the Mixedbread API (api.mixedbread.com) with a BYOK key; documentation: https://www.mixedbread.com/api-reference. Endpoints checked against that documentation on 2026-10-16.

What it is not

Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Mixedbread. Mixedbread and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with. It is read-only: it never creates, changes, sends or deletes anything in your Mixedbread account.
