What Neon Consumption (BYOK) is for

Neon Consumption (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own Neon Consumption data through the Neon Consumption API with a key you supply (API key). Read-only: 5 tools (get_project_consumption, get_branch_consumption, get_legacy_project_consumption, get_organization_spending_limit, count_project_branches). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to console.neon.tech. Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Neon Consumption. Neon Consumption and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with.

Ask your assistant things like:

  • "How many compute unit seconds did my Neon projects use this month?"
  • "Which branch of my Neon project used the most storage last week?"
  • "How much compute time did my Neon projects use on the legacy plan this month?"
  • "What is the spending limit of my Neon organization?"
  • "How many branches does my Neon project have?"

What it does

  • get_project_consumption: Report consumption metrics per project for an organization over a time range (Launch, Scale, Agent, Business and Enterprise plans). Each project has periods (billing intervals with plan and dates) holding timeframes with metric values. Reads do not wake compute.
  • get_branch_consumption: Report consumption metrics per branch for chosen projects over a time range. Each project has periods (billing intervals with plan and dates) holding timeframes with metric values.
  • get_legacy_project_consumption: Report consumption per project for legacy Scale, Business and Enterprise plans over a time range: active time, compute time, written data and data transfer per timeframe. Reads do not wake compute.
  • get_organization_spending_limit: Show the monthly spending limit of an organization in cents.
  • count_project_branches: Count the branches of a project, optionally only those whose name or id contains some text.

BYOK key

You bring your own Neon Consumption API key (https://console.neon.tech/app/settings/api-keys). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to console.neon.tech over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.

Data sources

Live from the Neon Consumption API (console.neon.tech) with a BYOK key; documentation: https://neon.com/docs/reference/api-reference. Endpoints checked against that documentation on 2026-10-16.

What it is not

Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Neon Consumption. Neon Consumption and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with. It is read-only: it never creates, changes, sends or deletes anything in your Neon Consumption account.
