What Neon Project Admin (BYOK) is for

Neon Project Admin (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own Neon Project Admin data through the Neon Project Admin API with a key you supply (API key). Read-only: 9 tools (list_snapshots, get_backup_schedule, list_jwks_providers, list_project_vpc_endpoints, list_preload_libraries, list_api_keys, list_organization_api_keys, list_branch_roles, list_masking_rules). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to console.neon.tech. Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Neon Project Admin. Neon Project Admin and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with.

Ask your assistant things like:

  • "What snapshots does my Neon project have and when do they expire?"
  • "How often does my Neon branch take automatic snapshots?"
  • "Which JWT providers does my Neon project trust?"
  • "Which VPC endpoints are allowed to reach my Neon project?"
  • "Which preload libraries can I enable in my Neon project?"
  • "Which Neon API keys do I have and when were they last used?"

What it does

  • list_snapshots: List the snapshots (point-in-time backups) of a project with name, source branch, timestamp, expiry, whether it was manual and sizes in bytes.
  • get_backup_schedule: Show the automatic snapshot schedule of a branch: frequency, hour, day, month and retention in seconds for each rule.
  • list_jwks_providers: List the JWKS URLs a project trusts for verifying JWT authentication (Data API), with provider name, audience, role names and dates.
  • list_project_vpc_endpoints: List the VPC endpoints restricting access to a project, with endpoint id and label.
  • list_preload_libraries: List the Postgres shared_preload_libraries a project can enable, with description, version, and default and experimental flags.
  • list_api_keys: List the API keys of the key owner's personal account: id, name, creation time and last use. Key values and IP addresses are not returned or picked.
  • list_organization_api_keys: List the API keys of an organization: id, name, creation time, last use and the project a key is limited to (if any).
  • list_branch_roles: List the Postgres roles of a branch with name, protected flag, authentication method and dates. Passwords are not picked.
  • list_masking_rules: List the data masking rules of an anonymized branch: database, schema, table, column and masking function. Masking values are not picked.

BYOK key

You bring your own Neon Project Admin API key (https://console.neon.tech/app/settings/api-keys). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to console.neon.tech over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.

Data sources

Live from the Neon Project Admin API (console.neon.tech) with a BYOK key; documentation: https://neon.com/docs/reference/api-reference. Endpoints checked against that documentation on 2026-10-16.

What it is not

Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Neon Project Admin. Neon Project Admin and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with. It is read-only: it never creates, changes, sends or deletes anything in your Neon Project Admin account.
