What Neon (BYOK) is for

Neon (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own Neon data through the Neon API with a key you supply (API key). Read-only: 11 tools (get_current_user, list_my_organizations, get_organization, list_projects, get_project, list_branches, get_branch, list_branch_databases, list_compute_endpoints, list_operations, list_regions). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to console.neon.tech. Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Neon. Neon and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with.

Ask your assistant things like:

  • "Which Neon account is my API key connected to?"
  • "Which Neon organizations am I a member of?"
  • "What plan is my Neon organization on?"
  • "What Neon projects do I have?"
  • "Show details of my Neon project"
  • "What branches does my Neon project have?"

What it does

  • get_current_user: Show the Neon account the key belongs to: id, login, name, email, plan and project and branch limits.
  • list_my_organizations: List the Neon organizations the key's user belongs to, with id, name, handle and plan.
  • get_organization: Get one Neon organization by id: name, handle, plan, creation date and whether MFA is required.
  • list_projects: List Neon projects the key can see with region, Postgres version, size and last compute activity. The answer carries pagination.cursor for the next page.
  • get_project: Get one Neon project: region, Postgres version, storage size, compute usage totals, owner and settings such as the logical replication flag.
  • list_branches: List the branches of a Neon project with state, parent, size, default and protected flags.
  • get_branch: Get one Neon branch: state, parent, logical size, default and protected flags, creator and expiry.
  • list_branch_databases: List the databases inside one Neon branch with owner role name and dates. No data or credentials are returned.
  • list_compute_endpoints: List the compute endpoints of a Neon project with branch, type (read_write or read_only), state, autoscaling range and last activity.
  • list_operations: List recent background operations of a Neon project (compute starts, branch creation and so on) with action, status, errors and duration.
  • list_regions: List the regions where Neon projects can be created, with region id, name and which one is the default.

BYOK key

You bring your own Neon API key (https://console.neon.tech/app/settings/api-keys). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to console.neon.tech over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.

Data sources

Live from the Neon API (console.neon.tech) with a BYOK key; documentation: https://neon.com/docs/reference/api. Endpoints checked against that documentation on 2026-10-16.

What it is not

Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Neon. Neon and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with. It is read-only: it never creates, changes, sends or deletes anything in your Neon account.
