What Odoo Product Catalog (BYOK) is for

Odoo Product Catalog (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own Odoo Product Catalog data through the Odoo Product Catalog API with a key you supply (Odoo API key (Preferences, Account Security, New API Key); JSON-2 access needs a Custom plan). Read-only: 7 tools (list_products, search_products_by_name, list_product_categories, list_units_of_measure, list_pricelists, list_warehouses, list_stock_locations). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to *.odoo.com. Ask your assistant things like:

  • "Which products do I sell in Odoo and at what price?"
  • "What is the Odoo id of the product called Desk?"
  • "How are my Odoo products categorised?"
  • "Which units of measure exist in Odoo?"
  • "What pricelists are set up in Odoo?"
  • "What warehouses does my Odoo have?"

What it does

  • list_products: List products (model product.template) with name, internal reference, barcode, type, category, sales price, cost, unit of measure and sale and purchase flags. Active products only.
  • search_products_by_name: Find products whose name matches a text (case-insensitive contains). Returns pairs of [id, display name].
  • list_product_categories: List product categories (model product.category) with name, full path name and parent category.
  • list_units_of_measure: List units of measure (model uom.uom) with name, reference unit, relative factor and rounding precision. Active units only.
  • list_pricelists: List sales pricelists (model product.pricelist) with name, currency and sequence. Active pricelists only.
  • list_warehouses: List warehouses (model stock.warehouse) with name, short code, reception and delivery steps and company. Active warehouses only.
  • list_stock_locations: List stock locations (model stock.location) with full name, usage (internal, view, supplier, customer, transit and others), parent location and warehouse. Active locations only.

BYOK key

You bring your own Odoo Product Catalog Odoo API key (Preferences, Account Security, New API Key); JSON-2 access needs a Custom plan (https://www.odoo.com/documentation/19.0/developer/reference/external_api.html#api-keys). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to *.odoo.com over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.
