What Okta Brands (BYOK) is for

Okta Brands (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own Okta Brands data through the Okta Brands API with a key you supply (Okta API token). Read-only: 8 tools (list_brands, get_brand, list_brand_domains, list_brand_themes, get_brand_theme, list_email_templates, get_email_template_settings, list_email_customizations). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to *.okta.com. What it does

  • list_brands: List brands with name, default flag, locale, privacy policy settings, email domain id and default app.
  • get_brand: Get one brand: name, default flag, locale, privacy policy settings, email domain id and default app.
  • list_brand_domains: List the custom domains assigned to one brand with validation status, certificate source type and certificate expiry.
  • list_brand_themes: List the themes of one brand with logo and favicon URLs, primary and secondary colors and the page layout variants.
  • get_brand_theme: Get one theme of a brand: logo and favicon URLs, colors and page layout variants.
  • list_email_templates: List the email templates of one brand (activation, password reset and so on) with recipient setting and the number of customizations.
  • get_email_template_settings: Get who receives one email template: ALL_USERS, ADMINS_ONLY or NO_USERS.
  • list_email_customizations: List the customizations of one email template with language, subject, default flag and dates. Message bodies are not returned.

BYOK key

You bring your own Okta Brands Okta API token (https://developer.okta.com/docs/guides/create-an-api-token/main/). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to *.okta.com over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.
