What Okta Schemas (BYOK) is for
Okta Schemas (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own Okta Schemas data through the Okta Schemas API with a key you supply (Okta API token). Read-only: 7 tools (get_user_schema, get_group_schema, get_app_user_schema, list_linked_object_definitions, get_linked_object_definition, list_user_types, get_user_type). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to *.okta.com. Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Okta Schemas. Okta Schemas and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with.
Ask your assistant things like:
- "Which custom profile attributes are defined in our Okta user schema?"
- "Which custom attributes do Okta groups have?"
- "Which profile attributes does Okta application 0oa1gjh63g214q0Hq0g4 define for its users?"
- "Which user relationships such as manager are defined in Okta?"
- "How is the Okta linked object 'manager' defined?"
- "Which user types does our Okta org have?"
What it does
get_user_schema: Get a user profile schema: the required base attributes and the definitions of custom attributes (type, mutability, scope). No user values are returned.get_group_schema: Get the group profile schema: the required base attributes and the definitions of custom group attributes.get_app_user_schema: Get the user profile schema of one application: base attributes and custom attribute definitions used for provisioning.list_linked_object_definitions: List linked object definitions (relationships between users such as manager and subordinate) with the names, titles and descriptions of both sides.get_linked_object_definition: Get one linked object definition by its primary or associated name: titles and descriptions of both sides.list_user_types: List user types (for example the default Person type and custom types) with name, display name, default flag and dates.get_user_type: Get one user type: name, display name, description, default flag and dates.
BYOK key
You bring your own Okta Schemas Okta API token (https://developer.okta.com/docs/guides/create-an-api-token/main/). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to *.okta.com over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.

Live from the Okta Schemas API (*.okta.com) with a BYOK key; documentation: https://developer.okta.com/docs/api/openapi/okta-management/management/tag/Schema/. Endpoints checked against that documentation on 2026-10-16.
What it is not
