What OMDb (BYOK) is for

OMDb (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own OMDb data through the OMDb API with a key you supply (API key). Read-only: 7 tools (get_by_title, get_by_imdb_id, search_titles, get_season_by_imdb_id, get_season_by_title, get_episode_by_imdb_id, get_episode_by_title). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to www.omdbapi.com. What it does

  • get_by_title: Look up one movie, series or episode by its exact title (optionally year and type); returns OMDb's JSON for it, including plot, cast, ratings and runtime. The free key allows 1000 requests a day.
  • get_by_imdb_id: Look up one movie, series or episode by its IMDb id; returns OMDb's JSON for it, including plot, cast, ratings and runtime.
  • search_titles: Search OMDb for titles whose name contains the search text, 10 results per page (page 1 to 100); returns title, year, IMDb id, type and poster in a Search list with totalResults.
  • get_season_by_imdb_id: List all episodes of one season of a series by the series' IMDb id: episode number, title, release date, rating and episode IMDb id.
  • get_season_by_title: List all episodes of one season of a series by the series' exact title: episode number, title, release date, rating and episode IMDb id.
  • get_episode_by_imdb_id: Get one episode of a series by the series' IMDb id, season number and episode number: title, plot, release date, rating and runtime.
  • get_episode_by_title: Get one episode of a series by the series' exact title, season number and episode number: title, plot, release date, rating and runtime.

BYOK key

You bring your own OMDb API key (https://www.omdbapi.com/apikey.aspx). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to www.omdbapi.com over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.
