What OpenFIGI (BYOK) is for
OpenFIGI (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own OpenFIGI data through the OpenFIGI API with a key you supply (OpenFIGI API key). Read-only: 6 tools (search_instruments, filter_instruments, list_id_types, list_exchange_codes, list_security_types, list_market_sectors). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to api.openfigi.com. Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by OpenFIGI. OpenFIGI and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with.
Ask your assistant things like:
- "Search FIGIs for instruments matching 'ibm' on the US exchange."
- "List FIGI records for US exchange equities."
- "Which identifier types does OpenFIGI know?"
- "Which exchange codes can I filter FIGI searches by?"
- "Which security types does OpenFIGI use?"
- "Which market sectors does OpenFIGI define?"
What it does
search_instruments: Search FIGI records by keywords (for example a company name or ticker) with optional exchange, currency and sector filters. Pages through results with the next token.filter_instruments: List FIGI records that match the filters (exchange, currency, sector, security type), alphabetically by FIGI, with an optional keyword. Pages with the next token.list_id_types: List the identifier types OpenFIGI accepts for third-party codes (ticker, ISIN, CUSIP, SEDOL and others).list_exchange_codes: List the exchange codes usable in the exchange filter of searches.list_security_types: List the security types usable in the security type filter of searches.list_market_sectors: List the market sector descriptions (Equity, Corp, Govt, Comdty and so on) usable in the sector filter of searches.
BYOK key
You bring your own OpenFIGI OpenFIGI API key (https://www.openfigi.com/user/profile/api-key). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to api.openfigi.com over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.

What it is not
Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by OpenFIGI. OpenFIGI and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with.
