What Open-Meteo (BYOK) is for
Open-Meteo (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own Open-Meteo data through the Open-Meteo API with a key you supply (Open-Meteo commercial API key). Read-only: 7 tools (get_current_weather, get_daily_forecast, get_hourly_forecast, get_solar_forecast, get_wind_forecast, get_agriculture_forecast, get_elevation). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to customer-api.open-meteo.com. Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Open-Meteo. Open-Meteo and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with.
Ask your assistant things like:
- "What is the weather right now in Berlin?"
- "What is the 7-day forecast for Paris?"
- "Give me hourly temperature and rain for Madrid tomorrow."
- "How much solar radiation will Munich get tomorrow?"
- "What will the wind speed at turbine height be near Hamburg this week?"
- "Is the soil moist enough near Lyon and how much evapotranspiration is expected?"
What it does
get_current_weather: Get the current weather at coordinates: temperature, feels-like, humidity, precipitation, cloud cover, wind and a WMO weather code.get_daily_forecast: Get a daily forecast at coordinates (up to 16 days): weather code, min and max temperature, precipitation, wind, sunrise, sunset and UV index.get_hourly_forecast: Get an hourly forecast at coordinates for the variables you name (temperature, precipitation, wind, pressure, cloud cover ...), for up to 16 days.get_solar_forecast: Get hourly solar radiation at coordinates for solar-energy planning: shortwave (global horizontal), direct normal and diffuse irradiance in W/m2, cloud cover, optionally tilted-panel irradiance.get_wind_forecast: Get hourly wind speed at 10, 80, 120 and 180 metres, wind direction and gusts at coordinates, for wind-energy planning.get_agriculture_forecast: Get hourly and daily farm-relevant forecast at coordinates: soil temperature and moisture at several depths, reference evapotranspiration (ET0), vapour pressure deficit and rain.get_elevation: Get the terrain elevation in metres (90 m Copernicus model) for one or several coordinates.
BYOK key
You bring your own Open-Meteo Open-Meteo commercial API key (https://open-meteo.com/en/pricing). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to customer-api.open-meteo.com over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.
Notices
This connector uses the commercial (customer-) server, which needs a paid Open-Meteo subscription key. The free non-commercial API needs no key and is a different server. Open-Meteo data is CC-BY 4.0: credit Open-Meteo when you publish it.

What it is not
