What Opik (BYOK) is for

Opik (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own Opik data through the Opik API with a key you supply (Comet API key). Read-only: 11 tools (list_projects, get_project, list_project_stats, list_traces, get_trace, list_spans, list_datasets, list_experiments, list_prompts, list_prompt_versions, list_feedback_definitions). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to www.comet.com. Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Opik. Opik and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with.

Ask your assistant things like:

  • "Which Opik projects do I have?"
  • "Show details of Opik project 0192-project"
  • "How many traces and how much cost did each Opik project have last week?"
  • "Show the latest traces of the Opik project support-bot"
  • "Show Opik trace 0192-trace in full"
  • "Which LLM spans ran in Opik trace 0192-trace?"

What it does

  • list_projects: List the Opik projects in the workspace with visibility and the time of the latest trace.
  • get_project: Get one Opik project by id.
  • list_project_stats: List usage statistics per project: trace and thread counts, error counts, estimated cost, duration percentiles and average feedback scores.
  • list_traces: List traces of one project, newest first, with timing, cost, span counts, errors, tags and feedback scores. Give project_name or project_id.
  • get_trace: Get one trace by id with its input, output, metadata, usage, cost and feedback scores.
  • list_spans: List spans of one project, optionally for one trace or one type (general, tool, llm, guardrail), with model, provider, usage and cost.
  • list_datasets: List evaluation datasets with item and experiment counts and the latest version.
  • list_experiments: List experiments with dataset, status, trace counts, cost, average feedback scores and pass rate.
  • list_prompts: List versioned prompts in the prompt library with template structure (text or chat), tags and version count.
  • list_prompt_versions: List the versions of one prompt with the template text, commit id and change description.
  • list_feedback_definitions: List the feedback score definitions (numerical, categorical or boolean) used to annotate traces.

BYOK key

You bring your own Opik Comet API key (https://www.comet.com/api/my/settings/). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to www.comet.com over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.

Data sources

Live from the Opik API (www.comet.com) with a BYOK key; documentation: https://www.comet.com/docs/opik/reference/rest-api/overview. Endpoints checked against that documentation on 2026-10-16.

What it is not

Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Opik. Opik and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with. It is read-only: it never creates, changes, sends or deletes anything in your Opik account.
