What PagerDuty Business Services (BYOK) is for

PagerDuty Business Services (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own PagerDuty Business Services data through the PagerDuty Business Services API with a key you supply (REST API key). Read-only: 9 tools (list_business_services, get_business_service, list_business_service_impacts, list_business_service_impactors, list_supporting_service_impacts, get_priority_threshold, get_business_service_dependencies, get_service_dependencies, list_priorities). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to api.pagerduty.com. What it does

  • list_business_services: List business services (capabilities that span several technical services) with name, description, point of contact and owning team. Business services need a PagerDuty plan that includes them.
  • get_business_service: Get one business service by id: name, description, point of contact and owning team.
  • list_business_service_impacts: List top-level business services sorted by impact status (highest impact first, up to 200), optionally with the highest impacting priority and total impacted count.
  • list_business_service_impactors: List the incidents currently impacting top-level business services (highest priority first, up to 200).
  • list_supporting_service_impacts: List the business services that support a given business service, sorted by impact status (up to 200).
  • get_priority_threshold: Show the account-wide incident priority a service's incident must reach to mark dependent business services as impacted.
  • get_business_service_dependencies: List the immediate dependencies of a business service: supporting and dependent services with ids and types.
  • get_service_dependencies: List the immediate dependencies of a technical service: supporting and dependent services with ids and types.
  • list_priorities: List the incident priority levels defined in the account with name, description and order.

BYOK key

You bring your own PagerDuty Business Services REST API key (https://support.pagerduty.com/main/docs/api-access-keys). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to api.pagerduty.com over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.
