What PartsBox (BYOK) is for

PartsBox (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own PartsBox data through the PartsBox API with a key you supply (PartsBox API key (starts with partsboxapi_)). Read-only: 12 tools (list_parts, get_part, get_part_total_stock, get_part_storage_locations, get_part_lots, list_storage_locations, list_parts_in_storage, list_lots, list_projects, get_project_bom, list_builds, list_orders). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to api.partsbox.com. Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by PartsBox. PartsBox and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with.

Ask your assistant things like:

  • "Which parts do I have in PartsBox"
  • "Show PartsBox part 1pbvre0cfg4f58azmvsgetasxq"
  • "How many of part 1pbvre0cfg4f58azmvsgetasxq do I have"
  • "Where is part 1pbvre0cfg4f58azmvsgetasxq stored"
  • "Which lots of part 1pbvre0cfg4f58azmvsgetasxq are in stock and what did they cost"
  • "What storage locations are set up in PartsBox"

What it does

  • list_parts: List the parts in your PartsBox inventory with name, description, footprint, manufacturer, MPN, unit, tags and default storage location. Stock history is left out; use get_part_total_stock.
  • get_part: Get one part by id: name, description, footprint, manufacturer, MPN, unit, tags, notes and default storage.
  • get_part_total_stock: Get the total on-hand stock count of a part, optionally limited to one storage location.
  • get_part_storage_locations: Show where a part is stored: one row per storage location with the aggregated quantity.
  • get_part_lots: Show every lot of a part as a separate source with quantity, storage location, status and resolved unit cost and value.
  • list_storage_locations: List all storage locations (drawers, shelves, bins) with name, description and tags.
  • list_parts_in_storage: List the parts held in one storage location with their aggregated quantities.
  • list_lots: List all lots (batches) with name, description, creation and expiry date and the order or build they came from.
  • list_projects: List all projects (BOMs) with name, description, tags and notes.
  • get_project_bom: Get a project's bill of materials entries: part id, quantity, designators, name and comments. Pass a build id to see that build's entries instead.
  • list_builds: List all project builds with project id, date, quantity built and comments.
  • list_orders: List purchase orders with vendor, order and PO numbers, status, expected arrival and creation date.

BYOK key

You bring your own PartsBox PartsBox API key (starts with partsboxapi_) (https://partsbox.com/api.html). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to api.partsbox.com over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.

Data sources

Live from the PartsBox API (api.partsbox.com) with a BYOK key; documentation: https://partsbox.com/api.html. Endpoints checked against that documentation on 2026-10-16.

What it is not

Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by PartsBox. PartsBox and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with. It is read-only: it never creates, changes, sends or deletes anything in your PartsBox account.
