What Pennylane Ledger (BYOK) is for

Pennylane Ledger (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own Pennylane Ledger data through the Pennylane Ledger API with a key you supply (Pennylane company API token (read-only scopes recommended)). Read-only: 8 tools (list_ledger_entries, list_ledger_entry_lines, get_trial_balance, list_category_groups, list_group_categories, list_invoice_templates, list_billing_subscriptions, get_company_features). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to app.pennylane.com. What it does

  • list_ledger_entries: List accounting ledger entries with label, piece number, date, due date, invoice number, journal id and status. Needs the ledger_entries scope.
  • list_ledger_entry_lines: List ledger entry lines with label, date, debit, credit and the linked ledger account, journal and entry. Needs the ledger_entries scope.
  • get_trial_balance: Get the trial balance for a period: account number, label, total debits and credits. Set is_auxiliary to include auxiliary accounts. Needs the trial_balance scope.
  • list_category_groups: List analytical category groups with label and their categories. Needs the categories scope.
  • list_group_categories: List the categories inside one category group with label, direction, analytical code and linked ledger account. Needs the categories scope.
  • list_invoice_templates: List customer invoice templates with id and name. Needs the customer_invoice_templates scope.
  • list_billing_subscriptions: List recurring billing subscriptions with label, status, mode, start and finish dates, next and previous occurrence and payment method. The customer is not returned. Needs the billing_subscriptions scope.
  • get_company_features: Show which optional Pennylane features (installments, custom fields) are enabled for the company.

BYOK key

You bring your own Pennylane Ledger Pennylane company API token (read-only scopes recommended) (https://pennylane.readme.io/docs/generating-my-api-token). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to app.pennylane.com over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.
