What Phrase Strings (BYOK) is for

Phrase Strings (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own Phrase Strings data through the Phrase Strings API with a key you supply (Phrase Strings access token (EU data center)). Read-only: 11 tools (get_current_user, list_accounts, list_projects, get_project_report, list_locale_reports, list_locales, list_keys, list_translations, list_jobs, list_tags, list_uploads). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to api.phrase.com. Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Phrase Strings. Phrase Strings and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with.

Ask your assistant things like:

  • "Which Phrase user is my token for?"
  • "Which Phrase accounts do I belong to?"
  • "Which Phrase Strings projects do I have?"
  • "How many keys are untranslated in this Phrase project?"
  • "How complete is each language in this Phrase project?"
  • "Which languages does this Phrase project have?"

What it does

  • get_current_user: Show the Phrase user the token belongs to: username, name, position and language (email is not returned).
  • list_accounts: List the Phrase accounts (organizations) the token can see.
  • list_projects: List projects with main file format, owning account and dates; can be limited to an account or searched by name.
  • get_project_report: Get a project's totals: locales, keys, translations, untranslated keys, unverified and reviewed translations, managed words.
  • list_locale_reports: Per-locale completion statistics of a project: translated, unverified and reviewed percentages and word counts.
  • list_locales: List the locales of a project with code, default and right-to-left flags and source locale.
  • list_keys: List translation keys of a project with tags, description and plural flag; the q parameter accepts Phrase search syntax such as tags:ios or untranslated:true.
  • list_translations: List translations of a project (text, locale, key and state), optionally for one locale or key or matching a search text.
  • list_jobs: List translation jobs of a project with state, due date and briefing, optionally by state.
  • list_tags: List the tags used in a project with the number of keys each has.
  • list_uploads: List recent file uploads of a project with file name, format, state and how many keys and translations were created or updated.

BYOK key

You bring your own Phrase Strings Phrase Strings access token (EU data center) (https://app.phrase.com/settings/oauth_access_tokens). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to api.phrase.com over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.

Data sources

Live from the Phrase Strings API (api.phrase.com) with a BYOK key; documentation: https://developers.phrase.com/en/api/strings/introduction. Endpoints checked against that documentation on 2026-10-16.
