What PostHog Surveys (BYOK) is for

PostHog Surveys (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own PostHog Surveys data through the PostHog Surveys API with a key you supply (personal API key (with the survey:read scope)). Read-only: 5 tools (list_surveys, get_survey, get_survey_stats, list_survey_question_labels, list_survey_activity). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to us.posthog.com, eu.posthog.com. What it does

  • list_surveys: List the surveys of a project with name, type, schedule, start and end dates, archive state and response limit. Filter by status, type or text.
  • get_survey: Get one survey with its settings and its full list of questions, display conditions and appearance.
  • get_survey_stats: Get response statistics of one survey (events shown, dismissed and sent, unique respondents) and the derived rates, optionally within a date range.
  • list_survey_question_labels: List the question texts of all surveys of a project with their question id, position and survey, to read survey response property keys as words.
  • list_survey_activity: List the change history of one survey: what happened, when, and the survey name; people are left out.

BYOK key

You bring your own PostHog Surveys personal API key (with the survey:read scope) (https://us.posthog.com/settings/user-api-keys). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to us.posthog.com, eu.posthog.com over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.
