What PostHog (BYOK) is for
PostHog (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own PostHog data through the PostHog API with a key you supply (personal API key (with read scopes)). Read-only: 8 tools (get_current_user, list_organizations, list_projects, list_insights, list_dashboards, list_feature_flags, list_persons, list_events). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to us.posthog.com, eu.posthog.com. Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by PostHog. PostHog and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with.
Ask your assistant things like:
- "Which PostHog user and project is my API key connected to?"
- "Which PostHog organizations am I in?"
- "What projects does my PostHog organization have?"
- "What saved insights do I have in my PostHog project?"
- "Which dashboards exist in my PostHog project?"
- "Which feature flags are active in my PostHog project?"
What it does
get_current_user: Show the PostHog user the key belongs to: name, email, join date and the current organization and project.list_organizations: List the PostHog organizations you belong to, with your membership level and member count.list_projects: List the projects of one PostHog organization, with id, name, time zone and whether events have arrived.list_insights: List saved insights (trends, funnels, retention and other analyses) of a project with name, tags and last change; computed results are left out.list_dashboards: List the dashboards of a project with name, description, pinned and shared flags and last access time.list_feature_flags: List the feature flags of a project with key, name, active state, status, tags and when each was last called.list_persons: List the persons (tracked users) of a project with id, distinct ids, creation and last seen time; can search by text, email or distinct id.list_events: List recent raw events of a project (legacy endpoint; only the last 24 hours unless after is given) with event name, person and time.
BYOK key
You bring your own PostHog personal API key (with read scopes) (https://us.posthog.com/settings/user-api-keys). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to us.posthog.com, eu.posthog.com over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.
