What RAWG (BYOK) is for

RAWG (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own RAWG data through the RAWG API with a key you supply (RAWG API key). Read-only: 9 tools (search_games, get_game, list_game_dlc, list_game_series, list_genres, list_platforms, list_developers, list_publishers, list_tags). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to api.rawg.io. RAWG and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with.

  • "Find open-world games released in 2024 with a Metacritic score above 85"
  • "Tell me about The Witcher 3 on RAWG"
  • "What DLC does The Witcher 3 have?"
  • "What other games are in the same series as Portal 2?"
  • "What game genres does RAWG have?"
  • "What platform id does RAWG use for PlayStation 5?"

What it does

  • search_games: Search and filter the RAWG game list by text, platform ids, genres, release dates and Metacritic range; returns name, release date, rating, Metacritic score and playtime.
  • get_game: Get one game by RAWG id or slug: description, release date, ratings, Metacritic score, platforms, ESRB rating, website and Reddit link.
  • list_game_dlc: List the DLC and editions (additions) of a game with release date, rating and Metacritic score.
  • list_game_series: List the other games in the same series as a game, with release date, rating and Metacritic score.
  • list_genres: List RAWG game genres with id, slug and number of games; use the id or slug in search_games.
  • list_platforms: List RAWG gaming platforms with id, slug, number of games and first and last release years; use the id in search_games.
  • list_developers: List game developers known to RAWG with id, slug and number of games; use the id or slug in search_games.
  • list_publishers: List game publishers known to RAWG with id, slug and number of games; use the id or slug in search_games.
  • list_tags: List RAWG game tags (for example singleplayer, co-op) with id, slug, language and number of games; use the id or slug in search_games.

BYOK key

You bring your own RAWG RAWG API key (https://rawg.io/apidocs). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to api.rawg.io over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.
