What Recall AI (BYOK) is for

Recall AI (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own Recall AI data through the Recall AI API with a key you supply (API key). Read-only: 7 tools (list_bots, get_bot, list_recordings, list_transcripts, list_calendars, list_calendar_events, list_calendar_users). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to us-east-1.recall.ai, us-west-2.recall.ai, eu-central-1.recall.ai, ap-northeast-1.recall.ai. Ask your assistant things like:

  • "Which Recall bots joined meetings today and what is their status?"
  • "What happened to my Recall bot in the meeting?"
  • "Which Recall recordings finished processing?"
  • "Which Recall transcripts failed?"
  • "Which calendars are connected to my Recall workspace?"
  • "What meetings are on my connected calendar and are bots scheduled?"

What it does

  • list_bots: List meeting bots with meeting URL, name, planned join time, status history and recordings, filtered by join-time window or meeting URL; 'next' holds the following page.
  • get_bot: Get one meeting bot: meeting URL, name, planned join time, full status history, recordings and metadata.
  • list_recordings: List recordings with creation, start and completion times, status, expiry and the bot that made them (media links are not returned).
  • list_transcripts: List transcripts as records with recording, creation time, status, provider and metadata (the spoken text itself is not returned).
  • list_calendars: List connected calendars (Google or Outlook) with platform, email, connection status and timestamps (OAuth secrets are not returned).
  • list_calendar_events: List events of one connected calendar with start and end time, meeting URL, meeting platform and the bots scheduled for them.
  • list_calendar_users: List calendar users (v1 calendars) with external ID, connected platforms and recording preferences.

BYOK key

You bring your own Recall AI API key (https://docs.recall.ai/reference/authentication). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to us-east-1.recall.ai, us-west-2.recall.ai, eu-central-1.recall.ai, ap-northeast-1.recall.ai over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.

Notices

Read-only: this connector never sends a bot into a meeting or creates calendars, so it does not use recording hours. Transcript text and media links are not returned.
