What Render (BYOK) is for
Render (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own Render data through the Render API with a key you supply (Render API key). Read-only: 9 tools (get_authenticated_user, list_workspaces, list_services, get_service, list_deploys, get_deploy, list_custom_domains, list_postgres_databases, list_projects). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to api.render.com. Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Render. Render and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with.
Ask your assistant things like:
- "Which Render account is my API key connected to?"
- "Which Render workspaces do I belong to?"
- "Which Render services do I have and are any suspended?"
- "What plan and region does Render service srv-abc123 use?"
- "Did the last deploys of Render service srv-abc123 succeed?"
- "What is the status of Render deploy dep-abc123 of service srv-abc123?"
What it does
get_authenticated_user: Show the Render user the API key belongs to: id, name and email.list_workspaces: List the Render workspaces (owners) the key can access with id, name, email and type. Workspace ids are used as ownerId filters elsewhere.list_services: List Render services (web services, static sites, workers, cron jobs) with type, suspended state, repo, branch, plan, region and URL.get_service: Get one Render service: type, repo, branch, auto-deploy setting, plan, region, URL and dates.list_deploys: List deploys of a service, with status, trigger, commit message and start and finish times.get_deploy: Get one deploy of a service by id with status, trigger, commit and timestamps.list_custom_domains: List custom domains of a service with name, type (apex or subdomain) and verification status.list_postgres_databases: List Render Postgres databases with plan, region, version, status, disk size and suspended state. Connection strings are not requested.list_projects: List Render projects with the environments they contain, owner and dates.
BYOK key
You bring your own Render Render API key (https://dashboard.render.com/u/settings#api-keys). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to api.render.com over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.

What it is not

Render and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with. It is read-only: it never creates, changes, sends or deletes anything in your Render account.
