What RestDB (BYOK) is for
RestDB (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own RestDB data through the RestDB API with a key you supply (restdb.io API key (read-only key recommended)). Read-only: 6 tools (get_database_meta, get_collection_meta, list_documents, count_documents, get_document, list_media_meta). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to *.restdb.io. Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by RestDB. RestDB and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with.
Ask your assistant things like:
- "What collections does my restdb.io database have?"
- "What fields does the 'product' collection have in restdb.io?"
- "Show the 10 newest products in my restdb.io database"
- "How many products cost more than 10 in restdb.io?"
- "Show restdb.io product 5602647c7f98025500000041"
- "Which files are stored in my restdb.io media archive?"
What it does
get_database_meta: Get metadata of the database: its collections and their fields.get_collection_meta: Get metadata of one collection: fields and field types.list_documents: Query documents of a collection with a JSON query, sorting and paging; at most 1000 per call, default here 50.count_documents: Count the documents of a collection that match a JSON query (no documents returned).get_document: Get one document of a collection by its _id (an ObjectID).list_media_meta: List metadata (file name, size, type) of files in the database's media archive, optionally filtered by a JSON query.
BYOK key
You bring your own RestDB restdb.io API key (read-only key recommended) (https://restdb.io/docs/rest-api). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to *.restdb.io over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.
Data sources

Live from the RestDB API (*.restdb.io) with a BYOK key; documentation: https://restdb.io/docs/rest-api. Endpoints checked against that documentation on 2026-10-16.
What it is not
Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by RestDB. RestDB and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with. It is read-only: it never creates, changes, sends or deletes anything in your RestDB account.
