What Runn (BYOK) is for

Runn (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own Runn data through the Runn API with a key you supply (Runn API token (read scope is enough)). Read-only: 11 tools (get_account, list_people, list_projects, list_clients, list_assignments, list_actuals, list_teams, list_roles, list_skills, list_workstreams, list_placeholders). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to api.runn.io. Ask your assistant things like:

  • "Which Runn account is my API token for?"
  • "Who is on the team in Runn?"
  • "Which projects are running in Runn?"
  • "Which clients do we have in Runn?"
  • "Who is assigned to project 5 next month in Runn?"
  • "How much time did person 1 log on project 5 in March in Runn?"

What it does

  • get_account: Show the name of the Runn account the token belongs to. Accounts hosted in the US region use a different host and are not covered by this connector.
  • list_people: List people in Runn with email, team, tags, manager ids, archived flag and external references. Filterable by name or email; cursor-paged.
  • list_projects: List projects with client, team, pricing model, budget, confirmation and archive flags, managers and tags. Filterable by name; cursor-paged.
  • list_clients: List clients with website, archive flag and external references. Filterable by name; cursor-paged.
  • list_assignments: List planned assignments (who is booked on which project, role and dates, minutes per day, billable flag). Filter by person, project, role or date range; cursor-paged.
  • list_actuals: List actual logged time (timesheet entries) per day with billable and non-billable minutes, person, project, role and notes. Filter by person, project and dates; cursor-paged.
  • list_teams: List teams (id and name) used to group people and projects.
  • list_roles: List roles (job functions used when booking people) with archived flag and the ids of the people holding each role. Rates and costs are not included.
  • list_skills: List the skills defined in the account (id and name).
  • list_workstreams: List workstreams (parallel streams of work inside projects) with their archived flag.
  • list_placeholders: List placeholders (unfilled roles used for capacity planning) with tags and archive flag.

BYOK key

You bring your own Runn Runn API token (read scope is enough) (https://help.runn.io/en/articles/7039247-how-to-generate-an-api-token-in-runn). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to api.runn.io over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.
