What Semaphore (BYOK) is for

Semaphore (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own Semaphore data through the Semaphore API with a key you supply (API token). Read-only: 11 tools (list_workflows, get_workflow, list_pipelines, get_pipeline, list_promotions, get_job, list_deployment_targets, list_agent_types, list_agents, list_members, list_roles). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to *.semaphoreci.com. Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Semaphore. Semaphore and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with.

Ask your assistant things like:

  • "What workflows ran in my Semaphore project recently?"
  • "Show details of this Semaphore workflow"
  • "Did my latest Semaphore pipelines pass?"
  • "What is the status of this Semaphore pipeline?"
  • "Which promotions ran for this Semaphore pipeline?"
  • "How did this Semaphore job end?"

What it does

  • list_workflows: List the Semaphore workflows of a project (newest first, up to 30) with branch, commit, trigger and the id of the first pipeline.
  • get_workflow: Get one Semaphore workflow by id: branch, commit, trigger and the id of the first pipeline.
  • list_pipelines: List Semaphore pipelines of a project or workflow with name, state, result, branch and creation time. Give a project id or a workflow id.
  • get_pipeline: Get one Semaphore pipeline by id: state, result, branch, commit message and queue, run and finish times. Environment variables are not returned.
  • list_promotions: List the promotions (deployment pipelines) of a Semaphore pipeline with name, status and what triggered them.
  • get_job: Get one Semaphore job by id: name, state, result and create, start and finish times.
  • list_deployment_targets: List the deployment targets of a Semaphore project with name, state, active flag and last update.
  • list_agent_types: List the self-hosted agent types of the organization with name, agent count and timestamps. Registration tokens are not returned.
  • list_agents: List connected self-hosted agents with state, type, version, OS, hostname and connection time. IP addresses are not returned.
  • list_members: List the members of the Semaphore organization with id, name and type. Roles are not expanded. Without member_type only human users are listed.
  • list_roles: List the roles defined in the Semaphore organization with name, scope, description and permission names.

BYOK key

You bring your own Semaphore API token (https://me.semaphoreci.com/account). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to *.semaphoreci.com over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.

Notices

Semaphore's documented API has no project list: copy a project id from the project's address in Semaphore. List endpoints return at most 30 items; use the created_before filter to go further back.

Data sources

Live from the Semaphore API (*.semaphoreci.com) with a BYOK key; documentation: https://docs.semaphore.io/reference/api. Endpoints checked against that documentation on 2026-10-16.

What it is not

Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Semaphore. Semaphore and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with. It is read-only: it never creates, changes, sends or deletes anything in your Semaphore account.
