What ServiceM8 Templates (BYOK) is for

ServiceM8 Templates (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own ServiceM8 Templates data through the ServiceM8 Templates API with a key you supply (ServiceM8 API key). Read-only: 5 tools (list_document_templates, list_email_templates, list_sms_templates, list_knowledge_articles, list_security_roles). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to api.servicem8.com. ServiceM8 Templates and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with.

  • "What email templates are saved in ServiceM8?"
  • "What SMS templates are saved in ServiceM8?"
  • "Which knowledge articles does my ServiceM8 team have about boilers?"
  • "What security roles are defined in ServiceM8?"

What it does

  • list_document_templates: List document templates (quotes, invoices, forms and so on) with name, template type and the kind of record they apply to.
  • list_email_templates: List email templates with name and subject line (the message body is not returned).
  • list_sms_templates: List SMS templates by name (the message text is not returned).
  • list_knowledge_articles: List knowledge articles with title, article type (video, rich text and so on) and tags (the content is not returned).
  • list_security_roles: List staff security roles with name and description (no staff members).

BYOK key

You bring your own ServiceM8 Templates ServiceM8 API key (https://developer.servicem8.com/docs/authentication). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to api.servicem8.com over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.
